Venus Williams survived a close call yesterday at the U.S. Open….she fought off 47th ranked Vera Dushevina of Russia 6-7,(5),7-5,6-3…..Venus is now 44-3 all time in first round openers in Grand Slam events….she is currently 10-0 in the first round a the U.S. Open.
