The Orlando Magic trudged out of Boston this week, toting only embarrassment following a lopsided 31-point loss to the Celtics…..For a while it appeared as though the Magic would return the favor. Instead, the Celtics took advantage of Orlando’s fourth-quarter meltdown and erased a 27-point deficit to hand the Magic an even more humbling defeat on their home floor, 91-83 on Thursday night.

Paul Pierce had 24 points and 10 assists, and E’Twaun Moore added 16 points off the bench to help Boston beat Orlando for the second time this week.

Pierce and Moore had 10 points each in the fourth quarter to surge past a Magic team that led by 11 points entering the fourth quarter before shooting 2 for 17 from the field in the final 12 minutes. They scored just eight points in the period.

“Everybody was big,” Pierce said. “Obviously, when you got a rookie (Moore) who hasn’t played too much to come in and do the things he did, that’s big for us.

“This team decided to stand up and fight.”

Moore said the Celtics needed a game like this.

The Los Angeles Lakers have surpassed the New York Knicks as the NBA’s most-valuable team, according to Forbes’ annual report….The magazine said Wednesday that the Lakers’ value had increased 40 percent since last year to $900 million thanks to its blockbuster Time Warner TV deal. The Knicks’ value increased 19 percent to $780 million with a boost from the renovation of Madison Square Garden. The Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics round out the top five.

Despite a shortened season, the average team is worth $393 million, up 6.5 percent from last year, aided by the new collective bargaining agreement.

The Milwaukee Bucks are the least valuable team at $268 million.

The model who claims Oscar De La Hoya assaulted her went on the offensive Wednesday, saying the former star boxer “should apologize” and that he “took advantage of me in every way possible.”….In a news conference outside a Manhattan courthouse, Angelica Marie Cecora lashed out at De La Hoya prior to a hearing in the civil case.

The Post reported last year that Cecora, 25, claimed the boxer assaulted her during what she described as a kinky, drug-fueled hotel romp last March at The Ritz-Carlton.

Cecora is suing the retired fighter for assault, battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“He came across as a very genuine person when I met him … but things got out of control,” she said. “He took advantage of me in every way possible.”

Lawyers for De La Hoya, who denies the allegations, were in Manhattan Supreme Court to argue on their motion to have the case dismissed.

But Cecora’s lawyer, Tony Evans, accused the boxer of trying to “cover up” the incident.

Evans was set to argue his own motion before the judge to have the boxer’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, removed from the case because he is a potential witness.

De La Hoya, who turns 39 next week, last fought in Dec. 2008, suffering a TKO loss to Manny Pacquiao. He was 39-6 in his career, winning titles in six weight classes.

On the long list of Scott Boras shockers, this one ranks near the top….Boras’ top free-agent client, first baseman Prince Fielder, has agreed to a nine-year, $214 million contract with the Tigers, according to major-league sources.

Fielder’s deal with the Tigers does not include an opt-out provision, a source said.

Tigers general manager David Dombrowski recently told ESPN.com that Fielder, “doesn’t fit for us. He’s looking for a long-term deal and that just doesn’t fit.”

Either Dombrowski was shading the truth, or Tigers owner Mike Ilitch — who has worked well with Boras in the past — made a last-minute call to sign Fielder.

The Tigers’ slugging first baseman, Miguel Cabrera, is guaranteed $86 million over the next four seasons. But the team recently lost its principal DH, Victor Martinez, to a knee injury that is likely to sideline him for all of ‘12.

Fielder and Cabrera figure to share time at first base and DH, forming one of the game’s most potent middle-of-the-lineup combinations. Fielder hits from the left side, Cabrera from the right The Nationals had been a leading contender for Fielder, but their ownership was divided on whether to give him the type of long-term deal he was seeking. The Orioles, Rangers and Mariners also showed varying interest in Fielder….Fielder’s average salary of $23.8 million will be third only to the Phillies’ Ryan Howard and Pujols among first basemen. Howard averages $25 million, Pujols $24 million. The Yankees’ Mark Teixeira averages $22.5 million, the Red Sox’s Adrian Gonzalez $22 million.

Murray State forward Ivan Aska said Monday that he’s been cleared to return after missing the last six games with a broken right hand for the nation’s only undefeated men’s Division I basketball team…”I couldn’t sleep last night just knowing that I had to go see the doctor,” Aska said. ”I’m very happy to be back.”

Aska is a starter and the leading rebounder for the 11th-ranked Racers, but broke the hand in the first half of a victory at Eastern Illinois on Dec. 30. The Racers (20-0, 8-0 Ohio Valley Conference) have a rematch with Eastern Illinois at home on Saturday.

”A lot of key rebounds that we really haven’t been getting when we needed them, we know he’s going to handle that. Those are the rebounds we usually get,” point guard Isaiah Canaan said. ”Just to have another big body down low, another bull down low to get rebounds when we need them is great.”

Murray State was outrebounded in four of the six games Aska missed, but the 6-foot-7 forward said he had confidence that the Racers wouldn’t lose when he grabbed the team to the side shortly after his injury with a message.

”I had confidence and I knew they were going to keep on winning because I had a long talk with all the players,” Aska said. ”They did the things they had to do and held themselves accountable. They just went hard every game.”

Aska averaged 12.6 points and six rebounds in his first 14 games. The senior had played in 113 consecutive games before the injury.

”They showed what a team is all about,” Aska said. ”That’s the real meaning of team: If one of your leaders is out, you still have a team bond that everybody stepped it up another notch since you’ve been gone.”
